The Ministry of MSME has launched a programme called ‘Technology Centre Systems Programme (TCSP)’. The programme envisages establishment of 15 new Technology Centres (TCs) and upgradation of existing 18 TCs (Autonomous Bodies) under the Ministry, at an estimated cost of Rs 2,200 crore including World Bank funding of US $200 million. The existing TCs have been extending technological support, apart from providing skilled manpower to industries, especially MSMEs for the past few decades. The present programme would enhance access to cutting edge technologies and skilled manpower by the industries, thereby making them globally competitive.
